A 20-year-old man, Zahrek Patton, was fatally shot on Tuesday night in Grand Prairie, leading to the arrest of a Fort Worth man on murder charges. The Grand Prairie Police Department reported that Patton was involved in a confrontation with the shooter prior to the incident. While it was confirmed that Patton and the suspect were acquainted, authorities did not disclose the nature of their relationship or the circumstances surrounding the altercation.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 8:45 p.m. in the 400 block of East Palace Parkway. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries. The Dallas County medical examiner is expected to officially identify him. The accused shooter is currently detained at the Dallas County Jail, facing a bond set at $1 million.
