Authorities have confirmed that 39-year-old Sammy White from Ogden was the passenger in a semi-truck that overturned in Kane County earlier this week. The incident occurred on Monday, September 30, when the white box truck was heading east on SR-14 near milepost 37 shortly before 3 p.m. The unidentified driver reported swerving to avoid a deer in the road.
As a result of the maneuver, the truck veered off the right side of the roadway and flipped over, ultimately landing on its roof. While the driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to a local hospital, White tragically suffered fatal injuries and was declared dead at the scene. Additional details regarding the crash have yet to be released.
