The identity of the 79-year-old woman who tragically passed away after being struck by a vehicle in a grocery store parking lot on Monday has been confirmed. Erie County Coroner Lyell Cook identified her as Sylvia Nunamaker, a resident of Erie, stating that her death was ruled accidental due to multiple blunt force trauma. The incident occurred around 1:15 p.m. on September 30 at a Tops Friendly Market located in the 700 block of West 38th Street. After reviewing surveillance footage, Coroner Cook noted that the driver did not see Nunamaker as she exited the store. Authorities are continuing their investigation, taking witness interviews and available surveillance footage into account.
