Fatal Plymouth County crash results in life sentence for Gregory Goodsell – Obituary

Gregory Goodsell, 36, has been sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole, for the death of 13-year-old Claire Zisserson in a tragic crash in December 2019. A Plymouth County Superior Court judge issued the sentence after Goodsell was convicted of second-degree murder and multiple charges related to driving under the influence.

The incident occurred on December 29, 2019, when Goodsell, while heavily intoxicated and under the influence of cocaine, crashed his truck into the car driven by Claire’s mother, Elizabeth Zisserson, injuring both her and Claire’s friend, Kendall Zemotel. Goodsell’s blood alcohol level was over three times the legal limit at the time of the crash, and evidence found in his vehicle included alcohol and marijuana.

During the trial, Elizabeth Zisserson spoke about the profound impact of her daughter’s death, describing how the accident destroyed their family dynamic. Claire was pronounced dead at South Shore Hospital shortly after the crash, which was deemed catastrophic by first responders.
