Officials have identified 44-year-old Ahmed Ibrahim as the driver killed in a fiery semi-truck crash on Interstate 65 near the Kennedy Bridge in Louisville, Kentucky. The crash occurred on Saturday, and Ibrahim’s death was caused by smoke inhalation and thermal burns after the truck collided with the concrete median, igniting the vehicle.
The crash took place shortly before 5:30 p.m., causing significant closures on I-65 South. Another semi-truck crash had occurred earlier that same morning near the Kennedy Bridge, contributing to extended traffic delays.
The incident remains under investigation.
