Two individuals from Bourbonnais, Amir A. Mays, 18, and Lani M. Bronkala, 21, have been arrested in connection with the shooting death of 44-year-old Thomas P. Isitt. The incident occurred on Wednesday morning in Kankakee, where Isitt was found with a gunshot wound in an apartment.
Emergency responders transported him to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Mays and Bronkala were apprehended later that day while hiding in a Bourbonnais residence.
Both face charges of murder and armed robbery and are currently held at the Jerome Combs Detention Center. The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to gather more details surrounding the case.
