Columbus police have confirmed the identity of a teenage girl who tragically lost her life in a shooting incident, initially believed to be accidental. At approximately 10:34 p.m. on Wednesday, officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 500 block of South Eureka Avenue, where they discovered 16-year-old Carlie Frizzell suffering from a gunshot wound. She was rushed to OhioHealth Grant Hospital in critical condition but was pronounced dead at 11:10 p.m. According to Sgt. Joe Albert of the Columbus police, a 911 caller had reported that Frizzell had accidentally shot herself inside the home. However, as of Thursday, authorities announced they have identified a suspect in her death, who is known to Frizzell. The police have indicated that the suspect’s name will not be released until the investigation is submitted to the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office for potential charges.
