Frederick Benjamin dies in fatal Fruitland car crash
Fatal Fruitland car crash death of Frederick Benjamin – Obituary.
Authorities have confirmed the identity of a Boise man who tragically lost his life after being hit by a minivan in Fruitland on Tuesday night. According to Idaho State Police, a 43-year-old driver from Payette was operating the minivan around 10:19 p.m. when he collided with Benjamin, who was walking in a travel lane near the intersection of Northwest 16th Street and Allen Avenue.
Emergency responders transported Benjamin via air ambulance to Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries at 6:51 a.m. Wednesday while in the intensive care unit, as stated in the coroner’s report.
The Ada County Coroner’s Office noted that Benjamin’s death resulted from traumatic blunt force injuries, although the official manner of death is still under investigation. The Idaho State Police continue to look into the incident, with assistance from the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, Fruitland Police Department, and Payette County Paramedics.
