Thames Valley Police have identified the elderly victim of a street attack in Slough as Giovanni Cecaro, who passed away on September 29, five days after the incident occurred. Mr. Cecaro, 82, was assaulted on Stoke Road on September 24.
Following his passing, formal identification was confirmed, and his family is being supported by specially trained liaison officers during this difficult time. The police expressed their condolences to the family, stating that they are in their thoughts.
In connection with the investigation, two teenagers, aged 15 and 16, from Slough, were arrested on September 25 on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent but have since been released on bail.
Detective Inspector Nick Hind of the Thames Valley Police Major Crime Unit emphasized that the attack appears to be an isolated incident with no broader threat to the public. He urged anyone who witnessed the attack or has relevant information, including CCTV or dash-cam footage, to come forward by contacting the police.
