In Decatur County, Indiana, a head-on collision resulted in the death of 36-year-old Adam P. Peters from Morristown, Ohio. The accident occurred on State Road 3, just north of Greensburg, shortly after 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
According to the Indiana State Police, Peters was driving southbound on S.R. 3 when, for unknown reasons, his SUV crossed the centerline and collided nearly head-on with a northbound box truck driven by 39-year-old Jamin E. Guthrie of North Vernon. Both vehicles ended up partially off the roadway after the impact.
Peters suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Decatur County Coroner’s Office, while Guthrie sustained minor injuries. The investigation into the crash is ongoing, with toxicology tests pending; however, officials do not believe drugs or alcohol played a role in the incident. State Road 3 was closed for about four hours for the investigation and cleanup.
