Fatal Decatur County car crash death of Adam Peters – Obituary.
Early Wednesday morning, around 6:00 a.m., a tragic two-vehicle head-on collision occurred on State Road 3, north of Greensburg, Indiana, resulting in the death of 36-year-old Adam P. Peters from Morristown, Ohio.
According to the Indiana State Police-Versailles Post, Peters was driving a 2017 GMC Acadia southbound when, for reasons still under investigation, he crossed the centerline and collided nearly head-on with a northbound 2017 Ford E-350 box truck operated by 39-year-old Jamin E. Guthrie of North Vernon, Indiana. The impact of the crash forced both vehicles off the roadway.
Despite immediate medical attention, Adam Peters suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Decatur County Coroner’s Office. Jamin Guthrie, on the other hand, sustained minor injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, and while toxicology tests are pending, there is no indication that drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. The area of State Road 3 remained closed for approximately four hours as investigators processed the scene and cleared debris.
Family members of Adam Peters have been notified of the tragic incident. The Indiana State Police received assistance from the Decatur County Sheriff’s Department, Greensburg Fire Department, Decatur County EMS, and the Decatur County Coroner’s Office during their response.
