Fatal Fruitland pedestrian death of Frederick Benjamin – Obituary

A 59-year-old man from Boise, Frederick Benjamin, has tragically died after being struck by a vehicle in Fruitland. The Ada County Coroner’s Office confirmed his identity, stating that he succumbed to blunt force injuries sustained in the accident. Benjamin was pronounced dead in the intensive care unit at Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.

 

The incident occurred on Tuesday night, around 10:15 p.m., when Idaho State Police responded to a report of a car versus pedestrian collision. A 42-year-old man from Payette was driving eastbound on Northwest 16th Street in a silver 2007 Chevrolet Uplander when he struck Benjamin, who was walking in the travel lane. Following the collision, Benjamin was transported by air ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he later passed away on Wednesday.

 

The Idaho State Police are investigating the incident, with assistance from the Payette County Sheriff’s Office, Fruitland Police Department, and Payette County Paramedics.
