Ahmed Ibrahim, 44, was tragically killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 65 near Jefferson Street and the Kennedy Bridge. The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed he died from smoke inhalation and severe burns shortly before 5:30 p.m. on Saturday. His death was ruled an accident.
Louisville Metro police reported that Ibrahim lost control of his semi-truck, hitting the concrete median, which caused the vehicle to ignite. Earlier that morning, another semi had also crashed near the Kennedy Bridge. These incidents led to extended closures of I-65 South for several hours.
