Authorities have identified the man who died following an altercation in Shreveport over the weekend. According to the Caddo Parish Coroner’s Office, 43-year-old Billy Sanders, residing on Merwin Street, was involved in a physical fight at his home on Friday. During the incident, he was struck in the head and subsequently fell.
Sanders was transported to Ochsner LSU Health hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries on Sunday afternoon. The Shreveport Police Department is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, which marks the 41st homicide in the city for 2024 and the 44th in Caddo Parish. An autopsy has been ordered to further examine the details of Sanders’ death.
