The Scott County Sheriff’s Office has reported that a tragic accident occurred late Wednesday morning on Stamping Ground Road, close to Viley Lane. The victim has been identified as 61-year-old Terry Coyle, a resident of Stamping Ground, according to Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton.
Authorities stated that the incident involved a dump truck that veered off the road. In an attempt to regain control, the driver overcorrected, resulting in a collision with a Toyota pickup truck.
One additional individual was taken to a nearby hospital following the accident, but details regarding their condition have not been disclosed. An investigation is currently ongoing, and preliminary reports suggest that intoxication or distractions do not appear to be factors in the crash.
