Barry Breslin, a 35-year-old Irish man and father, tragically lost his life in a workplace incident in Perth, Australia. On Thursday, emergency services were called to a work site near the off-ramp of the Mitchell Freeway in Greenwood, where Breslin had suffered a serious head injury after being struck by a falling piece of equipment. He was rushed to Royal Perth Hospital but sadly passed away shortly after his arrival.
Originally from Donegal, Ireland, Barry had been living in Australia for several years. He was engaged to his partner, with whom he shared a young son. His Gaelic football club in Ireland paid tribute to him, sharing fond memories and extending condolences to his family.
WorkSafe has confirmed the investigation is ongoing, with officials stating that Breslin was hit by equipment on the site. This marks the 10th death at a construction site in Western Australia this year.
