Fatal Clinton County crash claims the lives of Ja’cesun Jackson, Miko King, and Layani Carter Epps – Obituary.
Authorities have identified the three children who tragically lost their lives in a crash earlier this month in eastern Iowa. On Monday, October 7, a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was stationary in the outside lane of Highway 30 in Clinton County when a 2023 Dodge 4500 pickup truck collided with the vehicle from behind.
According to the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, the Jeep was carrying six passengers, including two adults and four children. Two of the children, Ja’cesun Jackson, age 4, and Miko King, age 2, were pronounced dead at the scene. Layani Carter Epps, age 5, was airlifted to a hospital but tragically passed away from their injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by the Iowa State Patrol.
