The Charleston County Coroner has identified 35-year-old Robert W. Barrs of North Charleston as the bicyclist who died in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night. Barrs sustained fatal injuries in the collision, which occurred around 10:25 p.m. on Ladson Road near Spinx.
According to North Charleston Police, Barrs was found in the roadway and pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved in the incident fled the scene, but authorities have since detained an individual for questioning as part of their ongoing investigation into the crash.
