Fatal Owen County crash death of Kathleen Fresard – Obituary
Kathleen Fresard, a 71-year-old woman, was killed in a crash on Friday afternoon in Owen County, Kentucky. The collision occurred on US 127 North near New Liberty Turnpike, according to Kentucky State Police.
The crash involved a vehicle from the Owen County Sheriff’s Office, driven by Deputy Frank Blackwell, who was responding to an overdose call with emergency lights activated. While passing slower traffic, a car, driven by Fresard, made a left turn in front of the deputy’s vehicle, leading to the fatal collision.
Fresard was transported from the scene by ambulance to a helicopter landing zone but later died from her injuries. Deputy Blackwell was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and has since been released.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing.
