Jordan Immanuel Davis dies in fatal Birmingham shooting
Authorities have identified the victim of a recent shooting in Birmingham as 30-year-old Jordan Immanuel Davis. His body was discovered in the middle of the street in a south Birmingham neighborhood on the morning of Saturday, October 19.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed Davis’s identity, stating that he was found unresponsive on 24th Avenue South, just off Green Springs Highway. Police received reports of the incident around 6:30 a.m., and medics pronounced him dead shortly thereafter, at 6:26 a.m.
Witnesses in the area reported hearing a commotion followed by gunfire. As of now, no arrests have been made, and the investigation is ongoing. The case will be forwarded to the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office to assess potential charges.
Sgt. Bryan Shelton expressed condolences, acknowledging the tragedy of the homicide and assuring that investigators are committed to providing closure for the victim’s family. This incident marks the 131st homicide in Birmingham for the year, with 165 total homicides recorded in Jefferson County. Authorities urge anyone with information about the shooting to contact homicide investigators or Crime Stoppers.
