Oklahoma City police arrest 23-year-old suspect in connection with the death of Jaedynn Anthony
Authorities in Oklahoma City have arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of fatally stabbing an 18-year-old store clerk at a 7-Eleven last week. The incident occurred around 2 a.m. on Friday near Wilshire Boulevard and Council Road, prompting police to respond to reports of a clerk in “medical distress.”
The victim has been identified as Jaedynn Anthony. Police learned that a suspect entered the store, initiated a transaction, and then demanded money from the clerk. During the robbery, the suspect brandished a knife and stabbed Anthony before fleeing the scene.
Security footage captured the moments leading up to the stabbing, showing the suspect interacting with Anthony before the attack occurred. Anthony was discovered dead approximately 45 minutes after the incident by the next customer to enter the store.
On Monday, the Oklahoma City Police Department announced the arrest of the 23-year-old suspect in connection with the case, facilitated by the U.S. Marshals Task Force. The arrest took place in the 8600 block of Northwest 84th Street. The suspect is expected to be interviewed and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center on charges of first-degree murder and robbery. Authorities have not yet released the suspect’s name, as formal charges have not been filed.
