A tragic helicopter crash in Houston claimed the lives of all four individuals on board, including Cesar Lerma, who was a passenger on a sightseeing tour. The incident occurred on Sunday night when the helicopter collided with a radio tower while flying at approximately 108 miles per hour at an altitude of 600 feet.
The helicopter, operated by National Helicopter Solutions, was navigating the skies over the city when it struck the tower. Lerma, along with two family members and the pilot, did not survive the crash. The identities of the other victims remain undisclosed as investigations continue.
Sergio Suniga, a close friend of Lerma for over a decade, recalled his friend’s passion for his work as a carpenter and his deep love for his family. “Cesar always went the extra mile in everything he did,” Suniga said, reminiscing about their time together.
Lerma had recently transitioned his work to Pearland but maintained strong ties with friends and colleagues in Southeast Houston. Suniga described him as a humble individual, always ready to lend a hand despite his success. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) is currently reviewing the pilot’s records as part of its investigation into this devastating crash.
