A murder investigation has been initiated following the tragic stabbing death of 16-year-old Deonte Mowatt-Slater in Islington. The incident occurred early on Tuesday, October 22, when the London Ambulance Service alerted police at 12:12 a.m. about a possible collision on Courtauld Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered Mowatt-Slater suffering from serious stab wounds. Despite the immediate efforts of medical personnel, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Detective Chief Investigator Neil John reported that the investigation is still in its preliminary stages. He noted, “At this point, it is unclear exactly where Deonte was when he suffered his injury.” Mowatt-Slater was found with his motorcycle on Courtauld Road.
The police are eager to gather information about the events leading up to this devastating loss. Chief Inspector John emphasized the importance of any witnesses or anyone with footage of the incident coming forward.
