Fatal Austin crash death of Tracy Daspit – Obituary.
The Texas Department of Public Safety has identified Tracy Daspit, an Austin resident, as the victim in a tragic crash that occurred on October 18 in southwest Austin. The incident involved a truck tractor and a passenger vehicle around 7:13 a.m. on State Highway 71.
According to reports, a 2024 Kia driven by Daspit was heading east on Thomas Springs Road when it failed to stop at a red light while turning onto SH 71. As a result, the Kia collided with the trailer of the southbound truck tractor.
Daspit was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the truck tractor remained on-site and has been cooperating with the ongoing investigation by the Texas DPS. The agency has notified the victim’s next of kin, and the investigation into the circumstances of the crash continues.
