Garrett Bruno, 33, has been identified as the driver involved in a deadly car accident in West Hollywood that resulted in the death of 83-year-old Esther Abouab and left another man in critical condition. The collision occurred on October 10 when Bruno’s Ford SUV struck another SUV while he was traveling north on Spaulding Avenue, approaching Fountain Avenue. The impact forced Abouab’s vehicle into a nearby parking garage.
Witnesses reported that Abouab needed oxygen at the scene and was rushed to a hospital, where she was later declared dead due to blunt force trauma. The other passenger in the vehicle is anticipated to recover.
Bruno, a self-identified “MAGA influencer” with a substantial following on Instagram, has a history of moving violations in Florida, including a license suspension in 2012. Authorities have stated that a toxicology report is pending; however, Bruno’s lawyer claimed that the results came back negative for drugs. Following the incident, he was taken to the hospital in handcuffs but has not faced any charges as the investigation continues.
Notably, shortly after the crash, Bruno was seen in a video reportedly using an unidentified white powder, raising further concerns regarding his behavior. His social media presence has since shifted to private following the incident.
The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department is expected to release additional information regarding the crash and any potential charges against Bruno in the near future.
