Benjamin Maupin dies in fatal Canyon County train collision

Fatal Canyon County train collision death of Benjamin Maupin – Obituary

A tragic train accident near Notus claimed the lives of four family members, including 38-year-old Benjamin Maupin, who was driving a Chevrolet Silverado. The incident occurred on April 13 when Maupin failed to yield at a railroad crossing.

 

Along with Benjamin, the victims included his wife, 35-year-old Kapri Maupin, and their children, 17-year-old Kayden and 11-year-old Ryder. The family had been well-known in the community, owning the Mint Barrel Barn, a venue for events and weddings.

 

Canyon County Coroner Jennifer Crawford highlighted the importance of adhering to traffic regulations in light of this heartbreaking event. The Idaho State Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision, which happened around 8:20 a.m. near U.S. Highway 20. Funeral arrangements for the Maupins have not yet been announced.
