A 23-year-old man lost his life following a motorcycle accident on Route 72 East in Plainville on Thursday afternoon. The incident occurred around 12:15 p.m., involving a collision between a motorcycle and a car. Emergency responders pronounced the motorcyclist, identified as Peter Mark Bienasz of Plainville, dead at the scene.
According to state police, the crash happened when Bienasz’s motorcycle rear-ended a car, causing him to veer off into the left shoulder where he struck a metal beam guardrail. Fortunately, the driver and passenger in the car were unharmed.
The highway was closed for several hours between exits 4 and 2 during the investigation but has since reopened. Authorities continue to look into the details of the crash, and anyone with information is encouraged to contact Troop H at 860-534-1098.
