Berlin police have confirmed the death of David Dionne, a 66-year-old Waterbury resident, following an industrial accident on Tuesday afternoon at a recycling facility in Berlin, Connecticut.
The incident occurred at CWPM, located at 415 Christian Lane. Authorities were alerted at 12:57 p.m. to an accident involving a payloader, with reports suggesting Dionne may have been trapped beneath the machinery.
Emergency responders, including Berlin Police Department officers and the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department, attempted life-saving measures. However, Dionne was pronounced dead shortly after being taken to The Hospital of Central Connecticut in New Britain. Police are continuing their investigation, and no charges have been filed at this time.
