Fatal Shallowater crash death of Jesus Lionel DeMartinez – Obituary
Jesus Lionel DeMartinez, a 35-year-old resident of Shallowater, was tragically killed after being struck by an 18-wheeler near Highway 84 and FM 1294 on Wednesday morning, as confirmed by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The incident occurred around 5:00 a.m.
According to the crash report, DeMartinez was walking westbound on US 84, positioned in the middle of the right lane. Richard Cerbantez, a 53-year-old driver from Hale Center, was also traveling westbound when his semi struck DeMartinez from behind. Unfortunately, DeMartinez was pronounced dead at the scene.
At the time of the accident, road and weather conditions were reported to be clear and dry, with a posted speed limit of 75 mph in that area. The incident remains under investigation.
