Fatal Turner County crash death of Tracy A. Mortenson – Obituary
Tracy A. Mortenson, 49, tragically lost her life in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday morning, located 12 miles west of Beresford. According to the South Dakota Department of Public Safety, the incident occurred when Mortenson was driving an SUV east on SD Highway 46, while a pickup truck traveling north on SD 19 failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection.
The vehicles collided, resulting in both ending up in the northeast ditch. Mortenson was killed in the crash, while the pickup truck driver sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.
