Anthony Durham, a 46-year-old man, has been identified as the victim of a traffic collision involving a Route 9 Mountain Metro bus on October 12 in Colorado Springs. The incident occurred just after 7:45 a.m. at the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Regent Circle.
Following the crash, Durham was transported to a local hospital with severe injuries but unfortunately succumbed to those injuries the following day. According to the Colorado Springs Police Department’s investigation, the bus had a green light and was in the intersection when Durham’s SUV collided with it.
The bus driver received medical attention but was released shortly thereafter, and fortunately, no passengers were injured in the crash. This incident marks the 43rd traffic fatality in Colorado Springs for 2024, compared to 41 fatalities at the same point last year. The recent tragedies have deeply affected the local bus driver community, as noted in a statement on social media.
