Marcus Bennett dies in fatal Orange County crash
Fatal Orange County crash claims Marcus Bennett – Obituary
Marcus Bennett, a 26-year-old resident of Montgomery, was killed in a two-vehicle accident on Route 32 in Newburgh, Orange County, on Thursday, October 24, at approximately 11:15 a.m. The incident left one other person injured.
According to Lieutenant Matthew Nadolny of the Newburgh Police Department, Bennett was driving a 2015 Chevrolet Volt northbound when it collided with a southbound 2007 Ford Econoline van driven by 36-year-old Leonel Marquez-Martinez of Wallkill. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene.
Marquez-Martinez was taken to Montefiore-St. Luke’s Hospital in Newburgh, where he was treated for injuries and is reported to be in stable condition. Authorities have requested that anyone with information about the crash contact the Newburgh Police Department at 845-564-1100.
Multiple agencies assisted with the incident, including New York State Police, Plattekill Police, Newburgh EMS, and both the Cronomer Valley and Plattekill Fire Departments. The investigation remains ongoing.
