Authorities have confirmed the identity of a man involved in a shooting incident near the Douglass Center on the evening of October 9. The Riley County police reported that 26-year-old Corandus Sims Jr. shot his assailant in what has been described as an act of self-defense. Fortunately, Sims was not injured during the confrontation.
