Fatal Prince George’s County tire shop shooting death of Anthony Okoye – Obituary

Authorities have confirmed the identity of Anthony Okoye, a 41-year-old man from Bladensburg, who was shot and killed while working at a tire shop in Prince George’s County. The tragic incident occurred on Saturday, September 14, around 6:30 a.m. in the 1200 block of Marblewood Avenue, located in Capitol Heights.

 

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered Okoye suffering from gunshot wounds. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

 

Investigators believe the shooting transpired inside the tire shop where Okoye was employed. Following the attack, two male suspects fled the scene in a dark-colored Mercedes sedan and remain at large.

 

On September 16, the Prince George’s County Police Department released images of the suspects’ vehicle along with the men believed to be involved in the shooting. The following day, Okoye was officially named as the victim.

 

At this point, investigators have not determined a motive for the shooting, and the case remains under investigation.
