Fatal Costa Mesa homicide death of Julie Anne Sanetra – Obituary
Daniel Allen Aldrich, 49, was taken into custody on Tuesday evening, suspected of killing his girlfriend, Julie Anne Sanetra, 38, and discarding her remains in a trash bin near his Costa Mesa home, according to police reports. Costa Mesa authorities were alerted around 2:30 p.m. when a call came in about a deceased woman discovered in the backyard of a residence along the 1900 block of Maple Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers located Sanetra’s body and promptly began their investigation, leading them to identify Aldrich as the primary suspect. Working with the Glendale Police Department, Costa Mesa officers tracked Aldrich to a family member’s house on the 3700 block of El Lado Drive in Glendale, where they arrested him later that same evening.
The incident has left many of Aldrich’s Costa Mesa neighbors in shock. “It’s usually so peaceful here. Everyone is friendly, and this is deeply unsettling,” resident Metinee Farley commented to OnScene TV. Another neighbor, Sherri, shared that the area had always been free of disturbances or violence before this event, noting that Aldrich had only recently moved into the neighborhood after purchasing the home from a young couple a few months prior.
