Fatal Toronto crash death of Digvijay Patel – Obituary
Digvijay Patel was among four Indo-Canadians tragically killed in a car accident in Toronto shortly after midnight on Thursday. The incident occurred near Lakeshore Boulevard when a Tesla EV lost control, collided with a guard rail, and then struck a concrete pillar, igniting a fire that engulfed the vehicle.
Community members also identified the other victims as Jay Sisodia and siblings Keta and Nil Gohil. While all four occupants in their 20s and early 30s were pronounced dead at the scene, a fifth passenger, a woman, was rescued by passersby and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities are urging anyone who may have dash camera footage or witnessed the accident to come forward. A nearby Canada Post employee, Rick Harper, described the flames rising five to six feet above the car’s hood and assisted in rescuing the survivor by breaking a window to help her escape. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
