Dino R. Collins, a 31-year-old man, has been identified as the victim of a tragic moped accident in Pulaski County. The incident occurred early Sunday morning when Collins was riding a black moped.
According to the Kentucky State Police, the crash happened just after midnight at the intersection of US 27 and East Frog Hollow Road. Preliminary investigations revealed that a 2014 Jeep Wrangler, driven by 19-year-old Kayleigh J. Dismuke, was traveling northbound on US 27 when it collided with the rear of Collins’ moped. The impact caused Collins to be ejected from the vehicle.
Collins was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Authorities indicated that alcohol may have played a role in the accident. Dismuke was subsequently arrested and faces multiple charges, including vehicular homicide while under the influence and operating a motor vehicle under the influence. The investigation is ongoing.
