Fatal Ascension Parish crash death of Rodney Michel – Obituary.
A tragic accident occurred in Ascension Parish, Louisiana, resulting in the death of a local man. Louisiana State Police responded to the two-vehicle collision on Louisiana 935, just east of Louisiana 431, at approximately 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 25.
The victim has been identified as 51-year-old Rodney Michel from Saint Amant. According to authorities, Michel was operating a 2016 Harley-Davidson motorcycle westbound at a high speed when he lost control. He was ejected from the motorcycle and landed in the eastbound lanes, where he was subsequently struck by a 2002 Ford F-250.
Police noted that Michel was not wearing a DOT-approved helmet at the time of the accident and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the Ford was unharmed. A toxicology sample has been taken, and the investigation is ongoing.
