Fatal Durham shooting death of Davicia Annie Jean Lee – Obituary.
A woman was discovered dead following a shooting outside a well-known fast-food restaurant in Durham on Saturday night, according to local officials. The incident occurred shortly after 10:30 p.m. at the Cook Out located in the 1500 block of S. Miami Boulevard/U.S. 70, just east of Durham near Angier Avenue, as stated in a press release from the Durham County Sheriff’s Office.
Upon the deputies’ arrival, they found one individual deceased at the scene. On Sunday afternoon, authorities identified the victim as 29-year-old Davicia Annie Jean Lee.
Investigators from the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division, along with the Forensics Unit, were present at the scene to conduct their investigation, as indicated by deputies on Saturday night.
The tragic shooting at Cook Out occurred shortly after an active shooter alert was issued about five miles away at North Carolina Central University, where four individuals were shot. However, deputies later confirmed that the shooting at Cook Out was an isolated event. As of Sunday, no charges had been filed in connection with the incident.
