Fatal Fort Yukon crash death of Hannah Dollick – Obituary
Hannah Dollick, a 28-year-old pilot from Palmer, tragically lost her life when her Cessna 206 crashed into the Porcupine River on Tuesday. Authorities reported that Dollick was found deceased inside the partially submerged aircraft, which went down northwest of Chalkyitsik, approximately 50 miles east of Fort Yukon.
The crash, which occurred shortly after takeoff from a remote location next to the river, marks the ninth fatal aviation incident in Alaska this year and the fifth in September alone. A National Transportation Safety Board investigator was dispatched to the site, although bad weather conditions hindered access. Currently, the cause of the crash remains undetermined.
The aircraft was registered to Kavik Aviation Services, a Palmer-based company that offers charter services for various outdoor activities. Blue River Aviation, another associated company, expressed their condolences on social media, acknowledging Dollick as a teammate and friend. This month alone has seen several tragic accidents, including a series of fatalities linked to hunting trips in Alaska.
