Fatal San Antonio shooting death of Ricardo Ortiz – Obituary
The Bexar County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed that 30-year-old Ricardo Ortiz was fatally shot on Sunday near a business on the South Side of San Antonio. His death has been classified as a homicide due to multiple gunshot wounds.
Officers from the San Antonio Police Department responded to an after-hours business located in the 3100 block of Mission Road just before 3 a.m. Upon arrival, they discovered Ortiz in a vehicle with visible gunshot wounds. According to a Sergeant on the scene, two individuals were present at the location where Ortiz had been causing a disturbance in the parking lot.
Initial investigations revealed that Ortiz had threatened to shoot others and attempted to run over people with his vehicle. The shooter, who remained at the scene, claimed to have acted in self-defense. Although police detained the individual who fired the shots, no charges have been filed as the investigation is ongoing, and additional charges could be considered.
