Fatal Staten Island car crash death of Justine Perez – Obituary.

The NYPD has confirmed the identity of a woman who tragically lost her life after being struck by a vehicle in New Dorp on the night of October 31. Initially misidentified, the victim was later confirmed to be 37-year-old Justine Perez from New Springville.

 

The incident occurred shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Hylan Boulevard at New Dorp Lane. According to the police, Perez was walking against traffic in the left lane when she was hit by a 2012 Nissan Maxima driven by an 18-year-old male, who remained at the scene following the collision. The vehicle had a green light as it approached the intersection and struck Perez, who was reportedly standing a few feet outside the crosswalk.

 

Emergency medical services transported Perez to Staten Island University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. No charges have been filed at this time, and the investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash remains ongoing. The NYPD expressed regret for the distress caused by the initial misidentification.
