Fatal Tooele County rollover crash death of Jason Panter – Obituary
A tragic rollover accident on I-80 in Tooele County has resulted in the death of a Taylorsville man. The victim has been identified as 50-year-old Jason Panter.
The incident occurred when Panter was operating a semi-truck hauling two trailers loaded with sand. According to the Utah Highway Patrol, his truck veered off the roadway near mile marker 102, crashing into a concrete barrier at the SR-201 structure. Following the collision, the semi rolled over and caught fire, leaving Panter trapped inside the vehicle. Unfortunately, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities redirected traffic to SR-201 while emergency crews managed the aftermath of the crash. The eastbound lanes of I-80 remained closed for several hours before reopening in time for the evening rush hour. Currently, no additional details about the incident have been released.
