Fatal Seattle shooting death of Soloman Taylor – Obituary
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a 15-year-old boy who was tragically shot in Seattle’s Central District on the evening of October 28, 2024. Soloman Taylor suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the torso, with the examiner ruling the death a homicide.
Taylor, a freshman at Garfield High School, was remembered by the school community as they grappled with the news of his passing. An official message from Garfield addressed the loss, expressing sorrow for the family involved and emphasizing the school’s commitment to student safety and emotional support. The statement encouraged families to engage in conversations about grief and provided resources to help students cope with their feelings.
Seattle police responded to a 911 call around 7:40 p.m. regarding shots fired at the intersection of 27th Avenue and E Spring St. Upon arrival, officers found Taylor with multiple gunshot wounds and attempted to provide life-saving assistance, but he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities noted that witnesses reported seeing a vehicle speeding away from the scene, though no suspects or vehicle descriptions have been released, and it remains unclear if the shooting was part of a drive-by incident. More than a dozen shell casings were discovered at the location.
