In Louisville’s Russell neighborhood, 34-year-old Mitchell Jackson Jr. was found dead on Sunday at the intersection of 18th Street and Muhammad Ali Boulevard. On Wednesday, the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office confirmed that he had died from gunshot wounds.
Initially, Louisville Metro Police reported finding Jackson’s body with no immediately visible signs of injury. As a result, the investigation was passed to the LMPD Homicide Unit while awaiting a coroner’s report to confirm the cause of death.
