On Sunday, November 3, 2024, a tragic accident occurred on Fox Creek Road near Beich Road in Bloomington, Illinois, leading to the death of 27-year-old Chakquia Echols. Echols was a passenger in one of two vehicles involved in a crash at approximately 7:49 p.m. She was transported to Carle BroMenn Medical Center, where she was later pronounced dead from multiple blunt force injuries. The driver of her vehicle sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police report that Michael C. Mitchell, 25, the driver of the other vehicle, fled the scene but was later apprehended and charged with reckless homicide and other offenses.
