Fatal North Side San Antonio shooting death of Christopher Fuentes – Obituary
SAN ANTONIO – Franco Xavier Summers, 32, was taken into custody over the weekend in connection with the fatal shooting of 43-year-old Christopher Fuentes, which occurred outside a Taco Palenque restaurant on the far North Side. The incident took place in the 18000 block of Blanco Road.
Fuentes was found with multiple gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Medical Examiner confirmed his death as a homicide. Fuentes was the father of Summers’ girlfriend, according to San Antonio police.
An affidavit revealed that Summers and Fuentes had argued after Summers refused to pay a cover charge at a bar. Following the dispute, Fuentes and his daughter exited the vehicle, only to be confronted by Summers again in the restaurant parking lot. A video showed Fuentes reaching for Summers through the car window before being shot multiple times. Summers then fled the scene at high speed.
Summers was apprehended later on Sunday afternoon at an apartment complex on Blanco Road after a family disturbance was reported. He was booked into the Bexar County Jail on an active murder warrant, with several other charges pending.
Summers has a history of legal troubles, including a previous 2013 murder charge that was dismissed. He also faced charges in a 2019 standoff with police.
