Fatal Fauquier County hit-and-run death of Garland Heddings – Obituary

On the evening of November 8, 2024, a tragic hit-and-run incident claimed the life of 73-year-old Garland J. Heddings of Catlett, Virginia. At around 5:47 p.m., Heddings was walking east on Elk Run Road near Flippo Lane when he was struck by a northbound vehicle, then hit again by a southbound vehicle. The collision resulted in his death at the scene. Virginia State Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the vehicles involved, one of which is believed to be a silver 2001-2003 Nissan Frontier with front-end and driver-side damage. The other vehicle may also have front-end damage. Investigators encourage anyone with information to contact them.
