Fatal Hopkins pedestrian death of John P. Gunderson – Obituary
Authorities identified the pedestrian killed in a Saturday night crash in Hopkins as 28-year-old John P. Gunderson from St. Louis Park. Gunderson was reportedly walking in the traffic lanes on Hwy. 7 near 12th Avenue at around 9:25 p.m. when he was struck by a Toyota Camry traveling eastbound. The 23-year-old driver, also from St. Louis Park, was not injured. Gunderson was pronounced dead at the scene. The Minnesota State Patrol confirmed alcohol was a factor related to Gunderson’s involvement in the incident. No further details have been released, and the investigation is ongoing.
