Fatal Lancaster County shooting death of Kimberly Day – Obituary.
Kimberly Day, 41, of Mount Joy, died from gunshot wounds to her chest and abdomen on November 8, 2024. Day was shot inside an apartment at 348 Sassafrass Terrace in Mount Joy by 22-year-old Ricky Shannon. After the shooting, Shannon fled the scene in a red pickup truck, leading police on a high-speed chase across multiple counties.
The chase ended in Dauphin County, where Shannon shot at officers before being killed in return fire. Authorities discovered a deceased 19-year-old woman in his truck, believed to have been taken against her will. Day was identified as the mother of the 19-year-old victim.
